Stephen C. Burrows, DPM, MBA, CPHIMS, FHIMSS is Founding Chair for Healthcare Informatics and is currently the Chair of Health Science & Leadership at Sacred Heart University. In August 2014, he was also named as Program Chair of the Health Science undergraduate program. In this role, he has responsibilities for the faculty, staff, curriculum, and students enrolled in the program. Dr. Burrows has extensive experience in the clinical medical field as well as the field of healthcare information technology. Prior to Sacred Heart University, he held several administrative and informatics roles including Assistant Director for the Management of Information Systems Department, Healthcare IT Manager for a quality improvement organization, Senior Product Manager for a healthcare software company, and Clinical Application Specialist responsible for a number of hospital based clinical applications. Burrows holds a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine; a Master of Business Administration from Sacred Heart University; and a Bachelor of Science in Health and Nutrition Sciences from Brooklyn College. He is licensed by the State of Connecticut to practice podiatric medicine. Dr. Burrows is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CPHIMS) and a Certified Professional in Health Information Technology (CPHIT). In December of 2014, he was named as a Fellow, Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (FHIMSS).

Professor Khatri’s research and teaching interests focus on managing effectively HR and IT functions in health care organizations. He has authored or co-authored three scholarly books, and published over 60 research articles and book chapters. His research is being cited extensively across the globe. Professor Khatri is on the editorial board of several international management journals including Health Care Management Review, Journal of Health administration Education, and Journal of Hospital Administration. He has presented his research in reputed conferences and three of his papers received nominations for the Best Paper Award at the Academy of Management. He has received many research grants including a grant from the National Institutes of Health, USA, on HR and IT Capabilities in Health Care Organizations in 2012 that was rated exceptional. He received the ‘Teacher of the Year Award’ in the Department of Health Management and Informatics, School of Medicine, University of Missouri. In 2015, the healthcareadministrator.org recognized him as one of the top fifty health care professors in the United States and Lieutenant Governor of Missouri commended him for furthering the academic reputation of the state’s flagship university and contributions to the state of Missouri. Professor Khatri is currently the Vice President of the Indian Academy of Management, an affiliate of the Academy of Management, USA, and member of the India Advisory Group at the University of Missouri.

Dr. Eller is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Policy, Management & Leadership at West Virginia University and holds an MPA from West Virginia University, PhD from Texas A&M University. Before arriving to the Health Sciences Center at WVU, Dr. Eller was faculty at the Bush School of Public Service at Texas A&M, served as the Associate Director of the Stephenson Disaster Management Institute at LSU, and as the Department Chair and MPA Director at the University of North Carolina Pembroke. Throughout his career, Dr. Eller has served as Editor of the Policy Studies Journal and Risk, Hazards, and Crisis in Public Policy. His work has been funded by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Education (DoEd), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the MacArthur Foundation, and various non-profit and public agencies. Currently, his research focuses on emergency management and recovery with special interest in vulnerable populations.

Salam A. Ibrahim is a research professor in the Food and Nutrition Sciences Program at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. In this position, he teach several courses including Food Microbiology, Food Safety, Food Biotechnology, Experimental Foods and other related courses. Salam A. Ibrahim research program has focused on two main areas: Food safety and microbiology Dairy food fermentation and biotechnology. In addition, he is the faculty coach for the dairy products evaluation team at the university.

Food Safety and Microbiology: In the area of dairy food processing, recent work in my laboratory has focused on: Viability and stability of probiotic cultures in traditional and non-traditional food products.

Burke, an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Services Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, teaches health informatics, health leadership, strategy, quality, process improvement, and operations management for the Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI), the Master of Science for the Health Quality and Safety (MSHQS), the Master of Science in Health Services Administration (MSHA), the Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management (BSHCM) and the doctoral Health Services Administration programs. He was an Associate Professor at Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL. prior to UAB Academic preparation includes 1) Ph. D. in Health Services Organization and Research from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond VA; 2) Master of Science in Technical Systems Management from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook; and 3) a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University. Industry credentials include a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma from the American Society for Quality (2015). Prior to his academic career Burke served as the Director of Systems and Procedures (performance improvement) at Mayo Clinic’s Jacksonville Florida Hospital; a Sr. healthcare information technology implementation readiness consultant for the Home Health industry; a Sr. Health Systems Engineer for University Hospital SUNY Stony Brook, NY; a Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering Leader for Electronic Military Communication System Projects at Harris Corporation, Melbourne FL; and an Industrial Engineer for Hershey Chocolate Company Hershey, PA.
